Side canister latch won’t release

I need to clean out the inside of the clear canister. The small yellow thumb release (attaches to a clear ribbed handle) releases but the canister won’t come off. Have tried prying around the entire edge of the rim. Is there some trick here? All videos I’ve viewed show it popping right off. Thanks for any suggestions.

You need to make sure that you have the bun flap open first. If the flap is not open, the clear bin will not come off.
