washing my DC49 filters

I've become fond of my DC49 (the little one) as I live in a small flat. I've got a blue DC49 in excellent knick and have collected a number of spares for the little fellow intending to keep it going as long as I can. It has the fabric pre cyclone filter shaped like a witches hat and folded paper post filter shaped like a small box. Is it OK to wash either of these in a washing machine, or will it be sufficient to rinse them under the cold tap?

Yes these filters are fully washable. We do have people wash these in the washing machine, if you do plan to do this, do not have it on a hot wash, and add some towels to stop the filters banging inside the drum
